(Per Press Association). Wanganci, August 11. The match South Canterbury v. Wanganui, took place this afternoon. The weather was excellent and tbe attendance very large. Tho game was interesting throughout, more especially in the first spell. Wan ganui in the first half obtained two penalty goals, the Southerners failing to score. Immediately after the second spell commenced Jackson made a splendid run down the field and succeeded in getting right through, but his try was not converted. No further score took place, and tbe game ended— Wanganui 9 points ; South Canterbury nil.
