Large orders for flour and provisions have been sent to New York by China. August 12. A second attack by the Japanese on the naval station and arsenal failed, as did the attack on Port Arther. Fighting began on Wednesday last. Sydney, AugUßt 12. As a result of the Corean war, the coal freights to Hongkong have risen from 9s to 19s per ton.
