Owing to the large increase in the num ber of students presenting themselves for Trinity College musical examinations it hns been decided to found a college of music in Sydney. ltis expected to bt in workiug order by the end of the fear. Many shearers are refusing to sigu the Pastoralists' Union s agreement iv the Hay district, but a number of sheds are working under a verbal agreemrnt. The thede are gradually filling upin the Moree district. Brisbane. August 9. The Speaker ruled Mr Glassey's motion for compulsory conciliation out of order, as it contained au assumption which was not based on fact.
