■ The ordinary monthly meeting of th» r ftbove Dody was held last evening. Present— The Mayor (Mr W. Carthew), C» J Gould, J. C.Thompson, W. A,Saudilandß, H. Worsfold, G. W: Powles and T. R. Chamberlain. 4 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows : — From J. Stevens, M.H.R., acknowledging receipt of resolutions re post office and railway- station buildings, and stating that his best efforts towards inducing the Government to carry out I the works required. ,u , from J.
