A New Market for New Zealand Produce.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, This Day. The Government have received a letter from a firm in Johannesburg, ' South Africa, pointing out the increasing market for New Zealand goods, and suggesting the appointment of a representative for New Zealand at the Cape. Dried fruits, jams, butter, and flour are ■ mentioned specially, and other tinea can' be imported with advantage. In reply to an enquiry from the Department of Industries and Commerce, Measrs Dalgety and Co. state that the current rate of freight from Melbourne to Capetown by the Aberdeen line of steamers is 45s per ton of 40 cubic feet. The steamers leave at intervals of about a mouth.
