■» The following team will represent Oroua, in the Association football match on the Oval to-morrow, against a team from Wellington : — Rev. A. Innes Jones, J. C. Hare, G. C. Hare, C. Halcombe, A. Gibson, C. Myers, B. Beattie, F. Gray, C. Daniels, Burrell, and F. Haynes. The match will commence at 1.30 sharp. The Feilding Red Star Football Club play a match with the Pirate 11, at Palmerston to-morrow. Footballers in the Manawatu are very dissatisfied with the arrangements made by the New Zealand Rugby Union for a combined Wanganui-Manawatu team to play New South Wales. One great difficulty would be the selecting of a team, and very little interest would be taken in the match. It is probable that a protest will be forwarded to the New Zealand Union by the Manawatu Union. The Feilding Club has this season played nine matches, winning 8, drawing 1, scoring 118 points to nil. This is very gratifying to all concerned, and a meeting of the Club should be held at once to determine the best means of celebrating such a successful season. SOUTH CANTERBURY v. NELSON. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Nelson, July 30. The football match, South Canterbury v. Nelson, was played to-day. Unfortunately rain set in in the morning and continued during the game, which resulted in a victory for Nelson by 8 points to nil. The state of the weather militated against football and tbe passing of the visitors was disappointing. Some forward rushes by the visitors were the feature of the game. In the pack scrums Nelson were overweighted, but in the loose more than held their own. Tho Nelson backs were more effective.
