A meeting of the Salisbury, Pohangina, and Delaware Farm Homestead settlers is convened for August 4th, to be held at our Road Board office, to take the subject of the high value put on the sections for rateable purposes into consideration. There was a rata tree brought into the Victoria mill from which 4110 telegraph-arms were made. It was Bft. through at the butt. I am informed that the Onslow Farm Homestead Block has been inspected by the Government surveyor, who reports to the Land Board that the portion of the Block nearest the ranges is too rough to be cut up for settlement in 200 acre sections. The Secretary is to call a meeting on receipt of instruc- i tions from the Commissioner of Lands. The Association was formed at a public meeting held in the Colyton Hall on January 15th, 1892. La grippe is very prevalent in our midst. Mr Mitchell, a new arrival from England, has bought Mr D. Knight's property, on the- Spur road, and intends to build at once. J
