The Pohangina County Bill.
THE BILL TALKED OUT. In the House yesterday, in moving the second reading of the Pohangina County Bill, Mr Pirani briefly explained that it was intended to get the borrowing powers extended and enable the district to adopt the system of differential rating. Sir Robert , Stout, Captain Russell and Messrs Mitcheison' and Tanner opposed the Bill on the ground that small counties wore ijndesirable. Messrs Buclianan, J^ T ewman, JJogg, J. G. Wilsou and the Premier strongly supported it. As tfie debate was not concluded by the dinner adjournment, the Bill was talked out and will not come on for consideration till next Thursday.
