. » - [Per Press Association.] Invebcabgill, July 5. - An interesting case, arising out of a comment passed by Mr Wade, solicitor for one of the publicans whose license was refused, came before two Justices to-day, when he was charged on the complaint of Mr Rawson, S.M., ' as chairman of the Licensing Committee, with using insulting laoguage. The words complained of were , "Before you separate gentlemen, I should "like to tell you that you bave been guilty of wilfully, wantonly, and deh Überately inflicting a gross injustice, "and those of you who are in private busihAM will particularly and individually suffer." The defence was that the words were used after the business of the committee closed, The bonch said they would deal leniently with defendant, and impose a fine of £2 10s, with costs £1 10s, in default 24 ' hours' imprisonment.
