Mr Justice Williams sat in Banco today to hears motion for a writ of wr. . twrari to remove into the Court an order " eftbelnveresrgill Licensing Committee -> bywbieb the application of Frank Hewit for a libeoM in respect ot the Union Hotel was refused. Mr Solomon, in support of the application, said before the Committee held their first meeting for disposalcf business they met privately and ■elected s#ren hotels for which tho hce«» ■es were to be refused. By selecting •even houses as tbey did they practically debarred themselves from tbe power of exercising discretion Mr 4.dams. in iop posing the application, contended there was no reasonable ground for suggesting that the Committee had other than an honest intention to carry out their duty. Judgment was reserved.
