Football News.

Weather permitting, no doubt the finest football match of the season will be witnessed next Saturday afternoon on the Feilding Oval, when the local club meets the Pirates, of Palmerston, for the second round. The match was postponed from last Saturday, owing to the rain, and should the weather be fine on Saturday there will be a treat in store for all lovers of the game. There was a very good muster on the Oval yesterday afternoon, and a good practice was indulged in. The ground was in a very wet condition, but should be all right by Saturday if the weather keeps as it is at present. The following team will represent Feilding against the Pirates on Saturday : — Full-back : Moore ; three-quart-ers: Richards, Robinson, Parr; halves: Strachan and 11. Parr ; forwards : Matravers, Oldhatn, Sanson, Greig, Martina, B. Whisker, W. Watts, Bryce, and Giesen. Emergencies — back, B rough ton ; forwards, Whisker and Aitken.
