Stock Markets.
Messrs Gorton and Son report: We yarded at Feilding about 200 head of cattle and 5000 sheep. The attendance was excellent, and bidding much more spirited, resulting in a very good sale at advanced prices. We sold all the sheep chiefly under the hammer, the best pen of 2-tooth Romney ewes in lamb, belonging to Mr C. Parazyn, bringing 12s per head. We did not sell the three-year steers, but quitted the other cattle, the springing heifers bringing an average of over £8 14s each. Quotations: Cattle — Fat cows, .£4 Is to £5 ss ; forward cows, £8 16s ; fat bullocks, £5 5s to £6 ss ; 18-month heifers, in calf, £2 10s ; 2-year heifers, £3 ; ' springing heifers, £1 14s to £9 ISs ; cows, £4 10s to £4 10s 6d. Sheep—2tooth Romney ewes in lamb, 10s 6d to 12s; good breeding ewes in lamb, 9s; other breeding ewes, various prices, 5s to 7s ; good lambs, 6s 8s to 7s sd ; merino lambs, 8s to 6s 6d ; old ewes, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. Draught horses, £5 12s to £20 ; hacks and harness horses, £2 10s to £15 12s 6d. Messrs Monteith and O'Meara report on tbeir Woodville sale:— Cattle — Springer », LS 15s ; store cowa, L 3 7s ; 2|-jear steers. L 3 15«; 2.jenr, to L 3 ss ; 18-month, L 2 16s; yearlings, L 2 12s; weaners to 325. Sheep— 2 and 4 tooth ewes, 9s j old ewes, 58 fid ; crocks, 2s 3d ; fat wethers. 10*.
