Feilding Borough Council.

A special meeting of the Feilding Borough Council was held lust evening. Present — The Mayor (Mr Carthew), Crs T. R. Chamberlain, Sandilands, Fowles, Lethbridge, J. C. Thompson, Worsfold. The meeting was called to consider two notices of motion with reference to the Kiwitea bridge. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Fowles, That the resolution of Juno 7th, 1894, referring to the proportion of the cost of the proposed Kiwitea bridge to be borne by the Kiwitea County Council and Manchester Road Board be rescinded. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Thompson, That the Feilding Borough Council contribute six-twelfth?, Manchester Road Board three twelfths, Kiwitea County Council two-twelfths, Pobangina Road Board one-twelfth of the cost of the proposed Kiwitea bridge — Negatived. Cr Sandilands proposed, as an amendment to the above resolution, and Cr. Chamberlain seconded, That the respective amounts which the several local bodies will be asked to provide towards the erection of the Kiwitea bridge be— the Feilding Borough Council five-twelfths, Manchester Road Board three-twelfths, Kiwitea County Council three twelfths, and the Pohnngma Road Board onetwelfth — Carried. The Council then adjourned.
