Price and Briscoe bave been arrested on a charge of conspiracy in connection with " salting " tho Mount Huxley mine. The Legislative Assembly, has passed the Customs, Income, and Probate Duties Bill. The Government will introduce a Land Tax Bill next week. During the passage of the Customs Bill the Protectionists increased the duties generally on imported articles which could be made locally, bnt refused to increase those on meat and wheat. Brisbane, This Day. News from Barcaldine states that the " rouse-abouts "on the Westland stations refused to work unless their wages were increased to the old standard. The various Pastoralists' Unions are consulting one another, and important developements are expected within a few days. The Premier has replied to the Premier of Victoria, stating he does not favor the penny postage proposals.
