The Tuapeka Seat
♦ (FRB PBBBS ASSOCIATION). Dtjnedin, June 20. Mr Scobie McKenzie opened the political campaign by addressing one of the largest meetings ever held at Lawrence. An amendment, declining to pledge the meeting until all the candidates had been heard, found no seconder, and a motion of confidence was carried by acclamation. The candidate spoke strongly in favor of temperance. Mr Larnach is likely to be the Minis* terial candidate for the Tuapeka seat, Mr Fraser has retired in his favor.
