Floods at Gisborne.
(Per Press Association). (iisborne June 18. A severe gale, accorapained by heavy ram, has been rugiug here since Saturday night. The rivers Waiiunta and Turanganui are in flood. The low laung portions of the town are flooded Fences have been blown down, trees have been uprooted, and great damage to property bag rrsulted. The approaches to the bridges in many places have b.en cariied nvij and much damage done to the freezing works. The fislnnjj smack Bells Murj parted her moorings, and drifting down the river went to pieces agnn.-t the shipping at the lower end. The township of Orraand is flooded. All tho settler* are shifiiuj? their sheep. lievenham is under water. If the weather does uot abate the eettlers will be compelled to leave their homes. The raiufull is by far the highest for the past 17 years. Since Saturday night up to 9 o'clock this morn ing 8 99 iuches of rain fell.
