Fatal Accidents.

(Per Press Association). CHRiSTCHnncH, June 10. An inquest was held at Lyttelton to-day touching the death of Wm. Pigott, the fireman who died from scalds received while cleaning the boiler on the R.M.S. Rimutaka. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased came to his death by the accidental turning of a stop cock, which appeared to be quite unguarded. A rider was added that steps should be taken to secure the stop valve of of tho boiler when being cleaned. Richard Ryan, second mate of the bnrquontiue Silver Cloud, died in the Hospital from the effects of a fall on tho vessel on Wednesday last.
