The Cheltenham Dairy Fectory.

We have been shown a letter received by Mr Spoacer, chairman of the Cheltenham Dairy Company, from Mr W. H. Torke, who purchased last season's output of butter from that establishment and placed it on the English market. The letter was written from Manchester, England, under date of April 18th. Referring to the batter the writer says : ~"I have no fault to find with your quality or your package?, in fact it is as good as any butter coming; from New Zealand. According to the Board of Trade returns the butter imported into this country in 1892 amounted in money to about eleven millions sterling-. In 1893 it was twelve millions and for the first three mouth of this year it came to £350,000 from Australia" It must be giatifying to the promoters and shareholders of Ihe Cheltenham Dairy Company to learn that their butter is quite as good as any New Zealand produce placed on the English market, and from Mr Yorke's letter it is safe to assume that this butter will always find a leady sole at a profitable price. But with the figures before us of the large quantity sent to England from Australia it will be absolutely neccs eary for those sending butter from this colony to produce nothing but the very best article. This the directors of the Cheltenham Factory intend to continue to do, and they have from the very commencement obtained the rery best procurable plant and erected the factory with a view to saving labor and at the same time ensuring the manufacture of a good article. Next season the output will be much greater in consequence of the increased supply of milk and also from the creamery at Birmingham which will be ready to receive milk early in the» coming spring. ______ _____
