J.P.'S FOR FEILDING.
Some surprise bas been expressed at the omission on tbe part of the Government to appoint additional J.P.s for tbe Borough of Feilding. I here ura at present five resident Justices in the Borough (including the Mayor) and it is generally admitted that that number is inadequate to meet tbe requit ements of the community. We WO" Id suggest to tbe authorities the 'Mivisableneßs of appointing several of our ex-Mayors to the Commission of iel eace. Fhese gentlemen have acted in that capacity during their re spective teims of office with credit to themselves aud benefit to the community, therefore we would urge on the powers that be their permanent appointment as Justices uf the Peace. We refer particularly to Mr E. Goodbehere, Mr F. T. Lethbridge, and Mr W. G. Haybittle. Their appointment would be a deserved compliment to tbe gentlemen we have named, and would 10 a degree relievo the pressure of work at present devolving on the imited number of J.P.'s.
