Dairy Factories.

We have been furnished with the following information by Mr A. H. Wilson, who visited the Maharabara Butter Factory, near Woodville, yesterday. This, a* also the Mangatinoka, Ballance, and Makakahi factories, were erected in 1892 93 under his supervision. The Mangatinoka took first prize for butter at the Wellington Show in 1892, whilst the Maharahara one took second honors last year. Mr William Hoisted is in charge at Mangatinoka, while Mr Hugh Lee ii manager at Maharahara. The care in accurately speeding the engines and separators is the primary cause of the success of these factories, whilst the careful way and cleanly manner they are worked is also an important factor in butter making. We append the results for six months, starting in November, 1893. Ten pounds of milk is the calculation per gallon. Z

On April 3rd butter was made from 20*3 of milk, whilst last year on one day butter was made from 19 3b. These figures were taken from the official books of tbe company, by Mr Wilson, who, yesterday, visited Maharahara, which lies between Woodville and Danevirke in towards the Ruahines. We readily afford this information to our readers, and as this is authentic we have to thank Me Wilson for the information; To-day he will test the milk at Halcombe with the Babcock tester in conjunction with Mr Bain, the manager of the cheese factory.
