The Validation Court.

A GOOD TIME EOR THE LAWYERS. (Per Press Association.) Oisbobnk. ay 18 The hearing of the Paremata case in the Validation Court is proceeding steadily. The case is likely to last several weeks. Heavy argument is now taking place between Mr Thee. Cooper, for the native objectors on one side, and Messrs Gully, Geo. Hutchison, and Delatour, for the Company on tbe other side. It was mentioned incidentally in Court that the interests of the plaintiffs in the case the Bank of New Zea land Estates Company, must be between £200,000 & £300,000, although the decision will effect titles to the various blocks of land worth over a million pounds. The law to be decided in this case will settle a large question relating to other cases. Auckland, This Day. The Manager of the Bank of New Zealand Estates Company contradicts the statement from Gisborne relating to the Company's interest in the Paremata Block now before the Validation Court. The total value of Paremata is only £20,000, and if judgment is given against the Company the loss falls entirely upon the Natives. The Company only appears before the Validation Court for the benefit of those natives who have interests on the blocks over which the Company holds first charges.
