One hundred masrhats followed and eventually recaptured it. j The wives of the strikers at Scot ! Trale tried to intimidate the fi rein en. j The police were called out and fired in the air. The strikers intervened and a desperate fight took place, in which fifteen of the strikers and one woman were shot. The police were repulsed, but rallied and arrested many of the rioters.
