Bessie Doyle at the Assembly Rooms To-night.

There can be no doubt that a great treat is in store for the musical portion of the community to-night, at the Assembly Rooms, when the gifted and much-tnlked-of violin virtuoso, Bessie Doyle, will make her first — and, unfortunately, only — appearance before a Feilding audience. Of Bessio Doyle we have heard and read so much that we are persuaded that she is a star of the first magnitude, but it is not generally known that she has a very talented company supporting her. Miss Kate Best is the happy possessor of a good mezzo-soprano voice of considerable sweetness and range, and bas a large repertoire of popular numbers. Mr William McKenzie, the baritone of the company, has a very powerful and pleasing voice of great compass, and equally well as he sings all classes of music his rendition of Scottish songs has seldom, if ever, been equalled in New Zealand, and we expect to see the audience composed largely of Scottish folk. Mr Percival Harris, the talented young pianist, conies with splendid credentials from the Royal College of Music, and as an accompanist has few equals. Our readers should not miss this opportunity of hearing not only one of tbe best violinists of the day, but one of the most complete combinations of talent now extant.
