THE FIELD OVER ESTIMATED. DISAPPOINTED MINERS RETURNING. (»SB PBBB9 ASSOCIATION.) YDNEY, This Daj. A letter received from Coolgardie by s, Member of Parliament, contains a strong warning against people rushing to the field, and says to those without means the journey will end in starvation, The writer regards the way the field is " boomed " as nothing short of conspiracy, and believes it will prove the most disastrous rush that has ever occurred in Australia. While patches of stone from Bayley's Reward Claim warrant the mine being considered a good one the stone throughout the country is, for the most part, of a worthless character. He blames the Western Australian press and " Wild Cat " boomers for much of the trouble that must ensue. Pebth, This Day* The water supply on the Southern Cross field is exhausted, and the situation is critical. Adelaide, This Daj. The exodus has apparently set in from Coolgardie. Over 800 returned miners reached here last week.
