MANAWATU RUGBY UNION.
A meeting of delegates of the above Union was held in Mr Hunt's Hotel, at Marton, last evening, there being present — Messrs Matheson (in the chair), Tompkins, Bell, Smith, Aldridge, Elliot, aud Kelleher. It was resolved, That Mr T. Lowes be the Birmingham Mountaineer's vicepresident of the Rugby Union. The notice of motion given last meeting " That all the gate money taken at the Cup matches go to tho Union was rescinded, and it was resolved that the Union take 25 per cent less cost of collecting. Messrs Smith, Matheson and Elliot were chosen a select committee for the season. Messrs Elliot and Haybittlo were approved by the Union as referees in the match Birmingham v Feikliug, and Kea Kaha v Pirates, to be played on the 12bh instant, A letter was received from the Foxton Football Club asking for admission to the Union, but on account of tho distances which teams would have to travel their application was unablo to be entertained. It was decided that the next meeting of the Union bo held iv Palmerston. The fixtures as drawn np by Mr Strachau were, with a slight alteration adopted for the first round, and the meeting adjourned.
At the meeting of Rugby Uuiou last evening, the following Cup fixtures for the first round were agreed to ; - May 12. ■ Feilding v. Birmingham, at Feilding ; Pirates v. Kea Kaha, at Palmer stoh. May 19, — Feildiug v. Pirates, at Palmcrstou: Martoa v. Birmingham, at Feildiug. May 26. Kea Knha v. Marton, at Martou ; Birmingham v. Pirates, at Feilding. Juue 2. — Feilding v. Martou, at Feilding. June 9 — Kea Kaha v Feildiug, at Feilding ; Pirates v Marton, at Martou. i June 16 — Birmingham v Kea Kaha, at Feildiug.
