(PER PttEsS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, May 2. j The railway revenue for the twelve months ending 31st March totalled £1,172,792 08 against £1,181,521 last year. The falling off is accounted for by the decrease in the grain traffic. The North Island lines earned £422,---714 against £404,038, and the South Island lines £750,078 against £777,---483. The expenditure was £735,358 against £732,141, the increase being accounted for by flood damage, largely on the N.ipier-Taranaki Jme. The Nortli Island expenditure was £269,---989 against £253,188, and South Island £465,368 against £478,953. The revenue on the Napier-Taranaki was £207,089, as against £198,850! last year.
