Bennett's Stump Extractor.
One of the most successful trials of Bennett's Patent Stump Extractor was given at Messrs J. J. and S. Williamson's farm at Waituna on Thursday, when the machine extracted a large rimu, measuring over -I ft Gin through, in remarkably quick time. The trial was witnessed by a large number of spectators who speak highly of the machine, as the following testimony shows : — " We, the undersigned, hereby certify we witnessed tho public trial of Bennett's Stump Extractor this day (April 25th, 1894) on the property of Messrs J. J. and S. Williamson, aud that the machine extracted a rimu stump, measuring 4ft 6in in diameter, to our entire satisfaction. — (Signed) J. J. Williamson, Joshua | Bell, S. J. Carman, L. Campion, W. Benson, C. D. Parker, G. A. Hunt, J. Northcott." The Walter A. Wood's firm is to be complimented on its enterprise in giving settler* an opportunity of seeing this machine worked, so that purchasers know what they are buying, and not entering into an investment they know littlo or nothing about. By these public trials a settler may see exactly how to work, and what labor is saved by these stump extracting machines. The Company is deserving ot success for the expense it incurs in giving these trials. We are informed by Mr C. H. Pickering, Walter A. Wood's representative in the North Island, that the firm inintends continuing giving public trials in the whole of the Manawatu and Rangitikei districts.
