Townsend & Paul report:— Wo held our regular Saturdays auction at oar Central Salevards and Horse Bazaar, when we disposed of the balance of Mr J. Harrej's shipment of unbroken oolta from fcydnej. They had improved considerably from the handling and ear* of the past week, and attracted a good deal of at'ention, with keen competition on the part of buyers, all being told at from £0 5s to £12 10s. We also sold good oab and express horses at £6 10s to £11, and heavy draughts at £30 to £23, with the usual draft from the noble army of mar* tyrs at 20a to 455 ; secondhand saddles, 40s, and single harness £5 ss. On Thursday next wo hold a clearing sale at the Lower Hutt, on the farm adjoining Mr Eli Holland* J * Messrs Freeman R, Jackson and Co. report ou thoir Johnsouville stock sale, as follows.— The cattle at thosal© yesterday wero of medium quality and no prime beef came forward. Sheep were of iudifferent sorts, and not in good condition. Pigs brought full rates. W© quote : - Cattle— Bullocks, 4>7 to 13s 6d, oqual to 18s 6d the lOQlbs. Sheep — Medium wethers, 7s 6d to lls 7d ? ewes, 8s to 8s 6d ; inferior ewes, 6s 6d. Pigs — Large porkers, 26s to 28s ; others, 19s 6d to ii2s; small pigs, Ilg tv IU 9*
