A. & P. Association's Annual Meeting.

The annual meeting of the Mana watu and West Coast A. and P. Association was held at Falmer&ton last Saturday. There were about 40 mem bers present and Mr G. Wheeler, President of the Association, occupied the chair. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed without dissent. The following report was read by the Chairman : — Your Committee have to report that the Association has completed the eighth year of its existance, and as in former years, a satisfactory rate of progress has to be recorded The important fixture, the annual show, continues to improve, both in the number of entries* and in the number of people attending. We are pleased also to state that a large number of members have joined the Association during the past year; there being now 269 paid up members as against 255 for year ending March 31st, 1893. We are able again to increase the amount of the money ' awards. The amount given at the 1882 show was £414 and at the last snow £459.. After mature consideration your committee has come to the conclusion that the area of the present show ground is not pufficiently large to meet the requirements of the As sociation ; and would recommend the incoming committee to acquire nwre land if possible. We regret to have to record that we have lately had a lawsuit brought against us which arose from complications at the 1892 show, and which resulted in a loss to the Society of about £50.
