Messrs Townsend and Paul report as follows: — At the regular weekly sale held at our Central Saleyards on Saturday, competition was not keen, owing to a lack of horses suitable to buyers' requirements. Heavy draughts brought .£lB to jE2I; light to medium, £7 10s to i-10 ; hacks, 4*2 17s 6d to £5. There is an enquiry for good upstanding weight-carrying horses, ehow.y and well-bred Messrs Gorton and Sons stock report: Since our last report we have within the last fortnight held stock sales at Feilding, Kilkern, Bamlou, Wuituntt ami Bulls. At Feilding we yarded just about 500 herd of cattle aud over 10,000 sheep being nearly twice as many as advertised and we had, thanks to the courtesy of Mr C'arr, to make use of his yards as well as our own. At Sandou more than three times the quantity of stock was yarded more than advertised. It is very* shortsighted of veudors not to advertise. As it may be safely put down as a rule the larger the Bale the larger in proportion is tho attendance. The sale at Feilding was on the whole a good one aud a large quantity of stock was sold at Kilkeru in tho estate of Mrs Agnes Richards. The salo was very brisk, more so for milk cows than we have known for years. At the other sales the bidding was not so brisk and though we were able to quit several lines the prices were of a downward tendency. Our quotations are : — cattm-;. Feilding — Forward bullocks, £413sGd to £4 16s; 2.', -year steers, £3 3s tirt to A"i 12s 6d ; fat heifers, £5 5s to AT) 10s Gd ; fat cows, £4 17s; milkers, £5 to £6; Q-year heifers, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s 6d ; store cows, £3 10s ; 18-mouth steers, £2 12a ; weavers, 25s 6d to 30s 6d.
