The Full Court to day delivered an important decision, holding that ft certain prisoner who had been twice convicted of the samo offence should be discharged. The prisoner's first conviction had been quashed on the ground that evidence had been allowed which was inadmissible Nevertheless, on the second trial he was again convicted. The Chief Justice differed froru the view taken by the rest of the Court, and argued that the second conviction should hold good. Melboubne. March 30. The further trial of the case Speight v. Syine begins on Monday. The Australian Natives' Conference has decided to support women's franchise and the fixing of a minimum rate of wages.
