» Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — A large line of steers from up country, together with a few odd lots of local cattle, made up the sale. Young cattle were steady at recent rates. For the bulk of the steers, buyers' and vendors' prices were not quite on the same level, so that a small number only changed hands. Sheep were fairly numerous ; secondrate lambs in their wool were without (inquiry ; other sorts remain much on a par with recent prices, and mostly sold. Cattle — , Weaners, 37s : yearling steers, £2 7s ; , 18 month steers, £3 8s; store cows, j £'3 4s 6d. ] Messrs Gorton and Son report as j follows: — Owing to Easter holidays and press of business, we were unable * to send our usual report of sales we ' held at Sandoa, Waituna, Bulls, Bun- 1 torville, Awahuri, and Mr W. Douglas 1 , Campbelitown, this month. The £ entries were good, but the sales on the s whole were dull, except at Waituna l and at Mr Douglas', the bid * ding for dairy cows was exceptionally & brisk, bringing varying prices from. £4 1 13s 9d to £9 2s 6d, the majority I being over £7. Since then we havo hold sales at Marton and at Messrs s D. and W. Manson's property, Stan a way road. At Marton the sale was g vory dull and we were only able to i quit a few pens of sheep. At Mr r Manson's homestead the market was a decidedly better. — A large Dumber of s sheep were offered, and we sold all t the 4 and 6 tooth, all the lambs, and $ a small portion of the f-tn.
