The Manager of the Big River reports having found two feet of stone driving from tho winze under No, 2 level. Patea, This Day. Judgment in the libel case Dickson v. Publisher Patea County Pross, was entered for the defendant with costs. Hastings, March 27. The case brought last week against Robinson, who lias been in business as a blacksmith at Te Aute for 18 years, was concluded to-day. The charge was that of inciting a prisoner to resist the police. The defence was that Detective Kirby struck defendant in the stomach with a walking 6tick, and that what he said was only in defence of himself. The Bench inflicted a flue of 410, or QUO wtmtk'ti iiuprisoiiaienfc.
