Deputation to the Minister of Labor at Birmingham.

« After tho public meeting, a deputation consisting of Messrs J. Stevens, F. Pirani, A. Fergusson, J McGregor, A Dick, and F. Homer waited on tho Minister of Labor to place before him the requirements of the settlers with respect to metalling the Kimbolton road beyond Birmingham. The remarks of the deputation wore similar to those made at tho meeting, a report of which we have already published. Mr Pirani also introduced the ques tion of a bridge over the Oroua river leading to Apiti. Mr Reeves promised to uao his influence on behalf of the settlers, but could not give a definite promise as the Minister of Lands dealt with these matters, and if that gentleman would recommend the requests be acceded to he (Mr Reeves) would give his support to them when discussed iv Cabinet. Tho deputation having thanked the non. Mr Reeves withdrew.
