The Feilding Star. Published Daily. "TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 1894. THE COLONIAL BANK.

«. The shareholders in the Colonial Bank of New Zealand are to be congratulated on the success of the last half year's operations of the institution. We are advised by telegram that the Directors, in their report for the period, state that the net profits for the half year, after making due provision for all bad and doubtful debts, amount to £20,476 19s. After adding £6434 12s Bd, brought forward from the previous half year, and de ducting £21191754 d, tax on note circulation and land and income tax, the sum of £24,791 14s 4d is available for disposal. The Directors recommend an addition of £5000 be made to the reserve fund, and £14,000 be be expended in the payment of a dividend at the rate of seven per centum per annum, leaving £5781 14s 4d to be carried forward. These figures speak for themselves, and show that this purely local bank is not only well managed, but is in a highly prosperous condition.
