The Stock Market.

Messrs Gorton and Son report : — Our yards loth at Sandou and Waituna were filled at our sales there this week with stock, good entries of both cattle and sheep coming forward. The sale dragged at Sandon, but at and after it we managed to sell nearly everything. At Waituna it was more brisk, more lines being sold under the hani)uer t but we had to turn one or two pens out unsold. The attendance at both sales was good. Our quotations are as follows: — Cattle. — AtSanson : Cows, £3 ; weaners, 22s to 30s ; heifers, £11 13s; milkers, up to £'5 10s. At Waituna : 3-year steers, £4 5s 6d to £4 10s ; cows, £3 to £3 Is ; milkers, £5. Sheep. — At Sanson : 2-tooth wethers, 6s 3d to 8s ; forward wethers, 9s ; breeding ewes, 5s 8d to 6s 3d ; old ewes, 3s 6d to 5s ; lambs, 2s lid to 4s j rams, £1 Is to £1 lis 6d. Waituna : 2-tooth wethers, 6s 9d to 7s 9d ; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 8s 7d ; breeding ewes, 5s 5d to 6s lid ; lambs, 3s 7d ; old ewes, 3s. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report on their Wanganui and Waverley sales as follows : — Cattle. — At Wanganui : Forward bullocks, £4 4s ; cows and calves, £3 19s : cows, £3 8s ; milch cows, £4 10s to £6 ; steers, £2 14s to £3 15s ; yearlings, 32s to 40s ; weaners, 21s. Shekp. — At Waver!ey : Store wethers, 7s 3d to 8s 6d ; ewes, Os lOd to 6s 3d ; culls, 3s ; iambs, 4s 6d. At Wanganui : The 4 tooth ewes bred by Mr McHardy brought 12s 6d ; other ewes, 6s 3d to 8s ; fat ewes, 8s to Us ; fat ewes, 10s to 12s ; store wethers, 7s 5d to 9s 6d ; lambs, 3s lid to 4s 6d ; rams, 25s to 52s 6d. Pigs : Pigs sold at full rates, small baconers up to 425 ; porkers, 20s to 30s ; small pigs, 8s 9d to 12s.
