The Licensing Election.
A most successful general meeting of the anh -Prohibitionist Conmnttee was held at Wellington last night, geyeral important resolution? were carried, one of thorn being to the effect that considering the number of people that would be thrown out of employment if the number of licenses were reduced, and also the fact that there is no clause in the Act giving compensation tohotelkeepers, it was unanimously decided to vote for no reductions in the number of licenses, and to induce all sympathisers to do the same.
