PAHIATUA V. MANAWATU RANGITIKEI UNION.
The match Pahiatua v ManawatuRangitikei Association was continued yesterday afternoon, the first innings of Pahiatua being published in our last issue. The local men faced the bowling after the luncheon adjournment. Wickets began to fall freely until Wilson and Tompkins got to gether, when these two players by careful cricket put 56 and 28 together respectively. At this score the local men were leadiDg by three runs, and an adjournment was made to afternoon tea kindly supplied by Mesdames Lethbridge, Monckton, Macaithur, and other ladies. On resuming Tompkins> was almost immediately caught out, and "Wilson fallowed a few minutes later. Coofee put up the good score of 18, and Broughton (12) and J. Entwisle (10, not out) also batted well. For the visitors Hewat and Williams shared bowling honors, while for the local men Entwislo and Cooke were very successful When the last wicket fell the score stood — MuDawatu 141, Pahiatua 115. Tho latter commenced their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn had lost 8 wickets for 37 runs. Following are the scores : — Ranuitikki-Manawatl" — Ist innings. Mr Cooke occupied the chair, and the toasts of " The Visiting Team," " Cricket," and their " Host " were duly honored. Songs were given by Messrs Fowler, Crichtou, Reade, Barlow, Bastings, and a recitation by Mr Hawkins. The visiting team left at 9 o'clock for hoiqf, being very well please*! with the hospitality they had received in Feilding.
