Death of "Vioilant," the Sporting Writer.

(PKB TRESS ASSOCIATION ) Wellington. This Day. Alfred King, well known as a sporting writer under the name of " Vigilant," died suddenly just after midnight of aneurism of the heart. He had been ailing for some time. Ho came to the colony in 1872, and joined the staff of the Auckland Star. In 1878 he removed to Wellington where for several years he was subeditor of the Post. Siucc then he has been attached to tho New Zealand Times.
