(FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION I Palmkrston North. February 16 A lawsuit of considerable importance to settlers lias been heard hereVbeforc District Judge Kettle. The plaintiff, Trask, brought an action against the Railway Commisioners to recover the sum of £117 10s for damages alleged to have been caused to two horses, a van and its contents, by an engine which ran into them while crossing the railway near Awaymni on the 9th November last. The jury gave a verdict of £~>s 2s. Leave was given to move for a nonsuit on next sitttiug day, and execution was stayed.
