« — Mr Matthew Henry reports :—Supplies of both sheep and cattle were smaller than usual for the Palmerston sale, which was held yesterday, and the classes of sh ep on offer were not such as would command themselves to the trade, in consequence bidding was not brisk, although the attendance was good. The following are quotations at which business was transacted :—Cattle : Fat cows, L 4 1 7s 6d to L 5: weaners, 26s to 275. Sheep : Fullmouth ewes, 4s ; shorn lambs, 4s 3d ; 2-tooth wethers, 7s 9d ; 2-tooth ewes aud wethers, 7s 6d.
