The Recent Gale.
(per press association.) Nelson, February 6. Accounts coming in from the country districts show the Joss by Friday's storm to be very severe. At Motucka alone it is estimated hops were damaged to the extent of £ 1000, and a garden near town was injured to the extent of £200. Wellington, February 6. The commander of H.M.S. Lizard re* ports having seen a small schooner in the Kale, some distance off Westport. labouriug heavily, with seas breaking right over her. It is not known what became of her.
