(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Chhistchukch, February 3. The rain ceased on Friday afternoon, and a strong northwester set in during the night and continued all day Saturday. Iv consequence, when the game was resumed on Saturday morning, all traces of rain had gono, and the wicket and turf was as good as on the first day. Canterbury's innings closed for 331 ; Pearce .35, and Collins 26, scoring well at the finish. The New South Wales batting was disappointing to the 3000 spectators present, the men making no headway against the bowling of Robertson and Labatt, who bowled unchanged. The innings closed at 118, and iv the follow on four are out for 25. In the first innings, Eobertson took 6 wickets in 216 balls for 72 runs, and Labatt captured the other four in 216 balls for 37 runs. The game will be finished on Monday. This Day.
