Farm Life and Town Life.

Somebody was speaking lately, says the Leader, adout how hard many of the boys are made to do work in the country, but I heard a true story the other day about how country boys who are inclined to think that life in the cities is easy and comfortable compared with their daily toil in the country are apt to find themselves mistaken when they come to town and subject themselves to the high pressure system of business establishments. A farmer's boy went to the city, finding the work at home rather tiresome, and obtained a position in a large ' family supply ' store where a • rushing business ' was carried on. He began very well, and his employers liked him. They were surprised, however, when he came to them, before he had been two mouths in the place and said : Well Mr , I think ' I'll have to get away from here next ( Saturday night. "Get away?" said , his employer, " Why what's wrong.' " Oh, nothing particular." " Aren't you treated well H First rate, but 1 I'll tell you how it strikes me. Up ' on. the farm we used to have the thrashing machine come once a year, and then we thrasbed for three clays, | and you can believe we worked hard ; but I tell you I've been here seven weeks and its thrashing machine every day. " I got enough of it." He went back to the farm, convinced that even a farmer's life has its compensation.
