A Suspicious Case.

(pes press association.) Auckland, February 1. James Donnelly Meekham, of O'Hara, near Mongonui, was adjudicated a bankrupt on January 2G on creditors' petition. Intelligence was received to day that the bankrupt's store was burnt to the ground during the absence of the custodian. The safe was broken into, and a portion of the contents found on a mon living in the neighborhood. It is understood the building and stock are partly insured. The police are investigating.
