(PEE PEKSB. ASSOCIATION.} Ddnedin. February 1. At the inquest on William Mclldowie, who committed suicide by making an opening in his arm in a bath, a verdict of suicide while insane was returned. From his wife's evidence it appears he has never been quite right in his mind since he had lost his and some of her money in mining shares. Auckland, February 1 A young man named Thos. Locklin was brought in from Rotorangi station to Cambridge badly injured. He waa yoking liorses to a reaper and binder, when they bolted, and knocked him down. His back is terribly gashed by the knives, and he has had a miraculous escape. Dr Kenny thinks be will recover, Wellington, February 1. A body found in the harbour thit morning is believed to be that of the missing seaman West, of the ship Blenheim. Chbistchubcii, This Day. An elderly man named George Russell has been missing from his home at Halswell for a couple of days. The police are searching for him, but no trace ol the man has yet been found.
