Treasury Bills to cover the deficit will be issued, but only sold lor investment in trust funds. The floods in the northern rivers and the commercial and financial depression had affected the revenue to an alarming extent. The receipts fell £767,000 below the previous year's. The saving on votes, which usually came to a quarter of a million, had amounted to £800,000, showing that judicious retrenchment had beeD carried out.
