PALMERSTON V. FEILDING. The Cup match between the Palmerston and Feilding clubs, played at Palmerston on Saturday, resulted in an easy victory for the home team by 133 runs. MARTON. The Uniou and Marton Clubs played a Cup match at Feilding on Saturday, resulting in a win for the latter by four runs on the first innings, as there was not sufficient time for the Unions to complete their second iuniiigs. The scores were— Marton 54, Union 50. Marton made 102 runs in the second innings, and the Unions put together 74 for the loss of three wickets, and would probably have won had the game been finished. HALCOMBE V. SANSON. The Cup match, Halcombe v Sanson, played at Sandon on Saturday, resulted in an easy victory for the visitors by an inuings and 26 runs. Strachau and Hunter bowled well, the former getting most of the wickets ; and Margesson 16, Hartgill 15, ami Sfcraehaii 11, were responsible for most of the runs made by the Halcombe team. The scores were — Halcombe, 83 ; Sandon, 22 ami 35. WELLINGTON V. NEW SOUTH WALES. [PEB PBES9 ASSOCIATION.] Wellington. January 27. The first innings of New South Wales closed for 209. Ashbolt took six wickets for 52, an excellent performance for a lad. Wellington started badly, Cross and Gore, two of the best bats, going out for 17, Holdship and R. Blacklock then stood together till 134 was reached, of Avhich the former made 45. Blacklock continued batting, but was most unluckily run out in the last over of the day. Burton was 14 (uot out I, and the score stands at 157 for five wickets. This Day. The first iunings of Welliugtou closed for 180, the remaining five men only putting on 23. Unless rapid scoring sets in, the match cannot be finished to-day.
