Danevirke Handicap — Pinrose 1, Mako Mako 2, Trickery 8. Dividend, £1 18s. Selling Race— Jessie 1, Waverley 2, Gorse 3. Dividend, £2 4s. High-weight Handicap— Kauri Gum 1, Mako Mako 2. Dividend, £2 14s. (PBS FBBBB ASSOCIATION). Sydney, January 26. The" weather was showery for the holiday. At the races the Anniversary Handicap was won by Trier, Bluepeter 2, and The Captain 3. Nineteen started. Won easily. Time, 2min SOJsec. This Day. Ich Dien and Stepniak are scratched for the Newmarket Handicap and Australian Cup, and Wolfscraig for the Newmarket Handicap. Auckland, January 26. A meeting of the stewards of the Otahuhu Trotting Club was held to inquire into alleged in-and-out running of horses at the recent meeting/ Five witnesses were examined. Further hearing of the case was adjourned until Tuesday.
