The Petition against Sir R. Stout.
.» (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, January 26. Lindsay advertises that he wishes to withdraw from the petition against Sir Robert Stout for the reasons: — (1) Because the contents were misrepresented to him, inasmuch as he was told it was only a petition for enquiry into the; election, whereas it contains charges lie has no reason for making ; (2) Because he was not absolutely sober when he signed it, and did not completely understand it as required by the Act. Notice is also J given that any other person may within seven days give notice of his intention ! to be substituted as petitioner in LindI say's place.
